Quranic Reflections
This subject will cover Surah Hujarat, Surah 49 of the Blessed Quran. This surah is a collection of the commandments and instructions sent down on different occasions, which have been put together because of the relevancy of the theme, sent down during the final years of the Prophets time in Madinah.

Purification of the heart
Covering sections of Imam Ghazzali's Ihya Ulum Ad Deen, here students will look at the sections, The Wonders of the Heart, Anger, Rancour and Resentful Envy as the negative traits in a human being. Steadfastness and Gratitute as the positive traits of the human.

Hadith
In this subject the students will be going through Forty Hadith on the Excellence of the Quran, a translation of the book Fayd al-Mu’in ‘ala jam il-Arbain fi fadl al-Quran al-Mubin by the great Quran and hadith scholar Mulla ‘Ali al-Qari. Through the words of the our noble Messenger, upon him be peace.

Way of worship
This is commonly known as Fiqh. The text which will be studied is based upon the classical works Quduri and Al-Ikhtayar, with a particular focus on contemporary issues. A discipline, from which all Islamic practices are learnt, be they personal or inter-personal. To learn a certain amount of this knowledge is obligatory upon all adult, sane, Muslims [fard al-‘ayn]. A Muslim is required to know the legal rulings of any religious action they undertake. The first year will cover that which is obligatory upon all Muslims to have knowledge of in their personal practices, relating to prayer, and purification.

Theology
Also known as Aqeeda. It is the first subject which is taught to the aspiring student of knowledge. The text covered will be The Book of Aqeeda (Muslim Creed) with commentary and hand-outs from various classical works. Islamic theology has been presented over the centuries in various ways, be that in dogmatic texts, didactic poems, or expositional works. The text to be taught, orientates around a cosmological presentation of the subject. Areas covered will include the necessary existence of God and things which are conceivable and inconceivable in relation to Him.

Shaykh Thaqib has travelled to numerous places over the last 10 years in pursuit of sacred knowledge. This began at several deen intensives with Shaykh Hamza Yusuf from whom the impetus to his seeking sacred knowledge belongs. After travelling to Morocco he went to Hadramawt to the village of Tarim where he sat at the feet of the spiritual Masters and jurists including Habib Umar bin Hafiz. He travelled to Damascus a number of times and studied under Shaykh Muhammad Darwish, Shaykh Abdul Wahaab Shaykh Muhammad al Yaqoubi, Shaykh Adnan al Majd, Shaykh Maree al Rashid and Shaykh Khalil al Sabbagh. His travels also led him to Mauritania to study with Murabit al Hajj, to Liverpool to study with Shaykh Siraj Ud-Din and to Istanbul at the feet of the gnostic and friend of Allah, Shaykh Mahmud Effendi; and studied with Shaykh Ehsaan Hojah and Shaykh Muhammed Ameen Siraj.

In 2007 Noor-Udeen was blessed with the opportunity to travel abroad and study with some of the leading scholars of Syria, amongst them: Shaykh Samir Al-Nass, Shaykh Mazin Bakeer, Shaykh Rashad Shams and Shaykh Mojeer Al Khateeb. He followed a broad curriculum paying special attention to Fiqh (jurisprudence) and Seerah (prophetic biography). Noor-Udeen has been involved in Dawa and teaching the Islamic sciences for over 10 years and is a founding member of the Shifa trust in Banbury.
