An online lecture series eulogising the intimate stories and family life of some of the most distinguished scholars of our time that have sadly left us; through the lens of their closest family members. A glance into their noble interactions with their families and the wider public – accounts which otherwise would never have been heard before.
Episode 1 & 2:
as-Sayyid al-Habib Abubakr al ‘Adani
The erudite scholar and great knower of Allah Most High, al-Habib Abu Bakr al-Adani- the worlds leading scholar on Islamic Eschatology. Who was the man behind the mesmerising smile?
Episode 3:
Al-Habib Mashoor Bin Hafiz
The humble scholar and the supreme Mufti of Tarim- a master of the inward and outward sciences, and great knower of Allah Most High, al-Habib Mashoor Bin Hafiz. Habib Mashhur played a huge role in defending Islam and preserving the traditions of his forefathers in Tarim and Hadramawt against the onslaught of Communism in the 1970s and 1980s. Although well into his eighties, he continues to render incredible service to his community and the Ummah.
Episode 4:
Habib Abu Bakr Shaykh
Habib Abu Bakr Shaykh was immensely generous. He would supervise the affairs of his famous kitchen and distribute food with his own hands. His father took him to the Imam of Tarīm at the time, Shaykh Shihāb al-Din, Aḥmad bin `Abd al-Raḥmān, complaining that his son was having difficulty in memorising the Qur’ān. The Shaykh said to his father: “Leave him and do not burden him. He will devote himself to it of his own accord and he will have a great affair.” It was as the Shaykh said: Shaykh Abū Bakr devoted himself to the Qur’ān and memorised it in around four months. Then he applied himself to learning the inner and outer science.
Habib Ali Abu Bakr
Habib Ali bin Abu Bakr son of Shaykh Abu Bakr bin Salim, better known as Habib Ali Bakr. Habib Ali Bakr had sought Sacred Knowledge in many places, including Inaat, Tarim, Seiyun, Baidoh, Shihr and Jeddah, from the foremost scholars of our time. His teachers include: the great scholar and Chief Mufti of Tarim, Al-Habib Ali Masyhur bin Muhammad bin Salim bin Hafiz
