IHT – Jesus (as) – Childrens Christmas Workshop

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed most commonly on December 25th as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world.

The purpose of this workshop is to educate our children on the Islamic narrative of Prophet Jesus (a), the origins of Christmas and its relevance to Muslims and the misconceptions held by Muslims surrounding it.

This will cover some of the following areas:

Story of Jesus (a)

  • His Mother Mary (a)
  • His Birth
  • The initial response from the people
  • His Miracles
  • His disciples
  • His ‘death’

Christmas

  • It’s origins
  • It’s linguistic definition
  • It’s cultural significance
  • It’s reality within the Christian tradition
  • Commercialism

Misconceptions

  • Muslims celebrating Christmas
  • Giving cards and gifts
  • Greeting people with ‘Merry Christmas’
  • Muslims having Christmas trees and other decorations
